This beautiful organic cotton tablecloth's long journey starts from farmers who grow organic cotton. The cotton is then spun into thread and then woven by hand on a handloom. Once the fabric is ready, it is hand block printed with a mud resist by an old traditional technique called Dabu. Dabu translates to "pressing". Wherever the mud resist is pressed, the mud acts like a resist against further dyeing. Through this process of printing and re-printing and natural dyeing - we got such beautiful shades of beige and reds. It's a long journey that we thoroughly enjoyed and one we would never forget. This has then been embroidered by the ladies of the NGO we work with.
